Joy Nwawe is a Barrister, Solicitor and Notary Public in the Province of Ontario, Canada. She is also a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She is the Principal counsel of the Law Office of Joy Nwawe which is based in Toronto Ontario, Canada.
Joy Nwawe holds a diploma in Social Work degree and a Law Degree from the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. She studied and obtained a Master’s of Law degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
She had her National Youth Service Corp with the Law Office of Wemimo Ogunde and Co, in Lagos State where she was involved in general legal practice. Wemimo Ogunde was the former counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Former Attorney General of Ogun State.Joy Nwawe loves the truth, equality and justice for all. Her love for legal practice led her to join Forthright Chambers where she represented Clients in civil and criminal matters in both Federal and State Courts in Nigeria.
She was part of the Human Right Team that created the organization known as the Protection and Defense of Human Rights, a non-governmental organization that protects and defends human rights and contended against laws and actions against citizens that were repugnant to natural justice, equity and good conscience.She was later in Private Practice and was the Legal Adviser to some corporate organizations such as Gracious-Link Pharmacy Ltd, Wozud International and others where she provided direction in matters relating to Incorporation, obtaining trade mark registration from corporate Affairs Commission and registration of products and licensing with the National drug law enforcement Agency (NAFDAC) in Nigeria. She remained in practice until she relocated to Canada with her family.

When it comes to legal proceedings, whether it is criminal or civil, you need a lawyer with all of the qualities listed above. These are some of the attributes that Barr. Nwawe brought to bare in my Family law proceedings against a very hostile Ex and her opposing lawyer. My first lawyer backed out because of the aggression of the opposing Applicant’s lawyer. Barr. Nwawe from the get go, stated that she cannot be intimidated by the other lawyer. They dragged the matter on for another four years and eventually lost in ALL issues they were fighting me for. In one of the endorsements, the Hon. Judge cautioned the opposing lawyer for being disingenuous.

Dear Joy
When you called me the day with the Judge’s decision on the Motion to Change I was shocked and the first time in my life I was in tears of happiness.
I have had so many lawyers that took my money and my families money only to be disappointed and actually damaged my ability to ever get justice.
It was an overwhelming task to peice together what has happened over 20 years. I had lost all hopes of ever getting justice.
You meticulously gathered all information relevant, presented in a way that explained why a Motion to Change was needed. The Court agreed with the evidence you provided! You did what the other lawyers were not able to do.
